Abstract
Cetaceans and pinnipeds were censed during SIBEX-Phase II 1985, from the M/N Alcázar. Counts tend to indicate that both, cetaceans and pinnipeds, mainly Antarctic fur seal, have increased their populations compared to previous estimations. Cetaceans have increased not notoriously, the Antarctic fur seal in a significative way. An association between krill distribution and that of cetaceans and pinnipede could be shown cualitatively. This association was statiscally not proven due to the few number of joint predator and prey observations.
