dc.description.abstractEl objetivo del presente artículo es comprender las tensiones que existieron entre Chile y Gran Bretaña a mediados del siglo XX (1947-1952), periodo en que la Segunda Guerra Mundial deja un nuevo orden mundial y donde las pretensiones antárticas serán mucho más intensas. Es ahí donde el rol de la embajada es fundamental para mantener las relaciones de paz entre las naciones y donde los argumentos son el sostén primario de estas buenas relaciones, por lo tanto, la labor de la cancillería y del embajador Manuel Bianchi Gundián serán fundamentales para evitar conflictos mayores y entrar en el diálogo sobre posibles soluciones a las tensiones presentadas.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThe aim of this article is to understand the tensions that existed between Chile and Great Britain in the mid- twentieth century (1947-1952), during which the Second World War left a new world order where Antarctic claims will be much more intense. This is where the role of the embassy is crucial to maintaining peaceful relations among nations and where the arguments are the primary providers of these good relations, therefore, the work of the Foreign Ministry and Ambassador Manuel Bianchi Gundián will be critical to avoid major conflicts and encourage in dialogue about possible solutions to the actual tensions.es_ES
